John Muir said "when one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world". The incredible and overwhelming complexity of nature far supersedes that of any complex structure created by man. That alone should be the basis for all moral consideration. It is an odd relationship to have with these intricate organisms in my work knowing there is an unfathomable amount of complexity still out there. I seek out the abused and get to know them. I find out who they are, what ecological purpose they serve, and get to know their existence intimately. By grouping these victims all together, I aim to create an overwhelming environment for the viewer to get lost in and hopefully ask the same questions. A sheer celebration of the microcosms among the most impressive macrocosm.
